Expert led, school focused

This project is led by our outreach team who bring a wealth of experience in both education and multi-media production. As seasoned educators, they understand the classroom environment, know exactly what needs to be showcased in your school, and how to interact with students in the correct manner. They also have a background in the private sector where they bring professional expertise in filming and video editing, ensuring a high-quality final product.

This is a unique opportunity to have a student-led filming project which results in assets which the school can use, and our team is here to make it happen. All in all with VirtuView, you’re in safe hands.

Why chose VirtuView?

The creative industries are one of the fastest-growing sectors in the UK economy and are set to continue expanding. Young people are already deeply engaged in the creative industry eco-system, from producing YouTube videos to the rise of short-form videos and photography on social media. By equipping students with these skills, you are harnessing their passions and helping to prepare them for future success.

These projects give students hands-on experience in an industry environment while providing your school with valuable, long-lasting resources.

This was a great project! Our students were incredibly engaged and gained valuable understanding of how to use media equipment. They wanted Satori to return to do more.

What happens during the project?

This project is designed to introduce a small group of selected students to the creative media landscape. Students will explore different types of media production, learning about the relevant equipment, gain an understanding of good and bad practice and how to operate them.

The project is structured as four one-hour sessions:

Session 1 – Introduction: In this session, we meet the students and explore the chosen location. (The discussion about the desired final product takes place before this session.) We provide students with resources that introduce key creative media concepts and, they will learn to distinguish between good and bad practice in media production. They will also get to try out the different equipment during this session under our supervision. The session concludes with planning for the following weeks.

Session 2/4 – Filming: These sessions focus on filming, with students actively involved in using the equipment, being on camera and presenting and behind the camera in capturing footage and acting as directors and producers. Between sessions, we edit the recorded content so students can review and take part in the editing process.
